John Ratley

God is gracious.  Born and raised in Texas, both of John’s grandfathers were tradesmen, who, in their careers, grew to be esteemed businessmen.  Each of them embodying the Lord’s command to live quietly and to work with their hands, giving God the glory throughout their lives.
Similarly, John spent a decade working his way up through the trades from hanging drywall to becoming a site superintendent and then a construction operations executive.  Specializing in banks, healthcare work, retail and restaurants, he seeks out good business practices and always finds ways to improve.
John serves the DFW community through his local church, civic organizations and several local charities and foundations.  He is best represented by his wife, Sofie; daughter, Halle Marie; and the family dog, Pam.
Project Coordinator

Jesse Moon

What are your job duties/experience?
With my experience managing and coordinating Customer Support teams, I have a knack for organizational structure. I handle document management (subcontracts, LOIs, lien waivers), coordinating with city inspections, billing, and customer service.

How would you best describe quality customer service?
Quality customer service is simple at its core. It means knowing your product, staying organized, working with empathy, and concisely communicating with our customers to ensure the success of their project.

How do you best contribute to team dynamics?
I contribute to team dynamics by offering a friendly helping hand wherever I can, and learning quickly to step in where I’m needed.

What is your favorite thing about working for Rooster?
My favorite thing about working for Rooster is the variety in our day to day. Being able to shift focus as needed keeps things fresh and exciting. I also appreciate seeing the tangible results of our hard work.

How can we best impact the lives of people in the metroplex through our work?
Good, quality work can be hard to find, especially in our rapidly developing area. A lot of contractors these days like to cut corners and only focus on that flashy finish. Rooster is unique in that we find flashiness not just in the backsplash or vinyl flooring, but in wiring, HVAC, and drywall.

Special Projects Superintendent

Josh Paintin

Short list of professional job duties/experience
I’ve spent most of my time working in occupied remodels and special projects.  I’ve done both commercial work and high-end residential work.  I take good care of people’s homes and the places that they work.
How would you best describe quality customer service?
Just like I did before.  If I’m on a jobsite, I know that property belongs to people who have to live and work there while we’re getting the job done.  It’s my goal that everyone stays fully functional and comfortable while Rooster is around.

How do you best contribute to team dynamics?
I’m a bit of a jack of all trades.  It helps when a superintendent can put themselves in the shoes of the different people on site.  Collaboration can be tough, but it’s always easier when you can see the project from different points of view.

What is your favorite thing about working for Rooster?
Everyone I work with is to the point.  You’re not going to get any BS from anyone of us.
How can we best impact the lives of people in the metroplex through our work?
This is similar to how I see a project itself.  If I have a job in someone’s neighborhood, or if there’s a TI project and you’ve got other businesses operating on all sides of the jobsite, it’s worth your time to go and build relationships with them.  I can’t help the noise on a jobsite, but I can get to know them and do my best to make things easier for them.
Superintendent

Joshua Gottusso

Short list of professional job duties/experience?
If you can name it, I’ve done it.  Back home in Georgia I got my start doing a lot of dirtwork and concrete, and even got into building swimming pools.  I am a carpenter by trade and wound up working in the industrial sector, commercial ground up and multifamily.  I take care to complete daily reports, JHAs and communicate with my subs and the project owner every day.
How would you best describe quality customer service?
It really is a matter of communication.  I’m not going to shy away from the facts.  If there is a problem, we’re going to address it and we’re going to fix it.
How do you best contribute to team dynamics?
I’m used to running the jobsite, but I do that with a servant’s heart.  Everyone has their job to do and it’s my job to make sure they have the resources available to be successful.
What is your favorite thing about working for Rooster?
Rooster gives me autonomy on the jobsite.  Everybody is different, thinks different and operates a little differently.  They don’t try to put people into a box.  We all get to be ourselves.
How can we best impact the lives of people in the metroplex through our work?
The best way for me to make DFW a better place is just to be the best superintendent I can be.  That’s like asking how can I best impact the lives of my family members – by being the best father and husband that I can possibly be.
